El desarrollo de Génesis Pérez en Florida

Originaria de San José, Costa Rica, Génesis Pérez Watson ha destacado como una de las jóvenes promesas del fútbol femenino de su país. Formada en Montverde Academy, donde obtuvo una beca para estudiar sus estudios secundarios, su talento la llevó a representar a Costa Rica en categorías Sub-17 y Sub-20, participando en más de tres mundiales femeninos con su selección.

Brillando en la Universidad de Florida Central (UCF)

En agosto de 2023, Génesis inició su etapa universitaria en University of Central Florida (UCF) con una beca completa, integrándose al equipo de fútbol femenino que compite en la División I de la NCAA. 

En octubre de 2024, fue reconocida como la "Freshman of the Week" de la Big 12 Conference tras lograr su primera portería a cero en un empate 0-0 contra Colorado, realizando 14 atajadas, cifra que empató el récord de la temporada en la conferencia y se ubicó como la séptima mejor marca en la historia de UCF.

Originally from San José, Costa Rica, Génesis Pérez Watson has emerged as one of her country’s rising stars in women’s soccer. She honed her skills at Montverde Academy—where she earned a full scholarship for her high school studies—and went on to represent Costa Rica at the U‑17 and U‑20 levels, appearing in more than three FIFA Women’s World Cups with her national team.

Shining at the University of Central Florida (UCF)

In August 2023, Génesis began her collegiate career at the University of Central Florida on a full scholarship, joining the UCF Knights women’s soccer team, which competes in NCAA
Division I.

In October 2024, she was honored as the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week after recording her first clean sheet in a 0–0 draw against Colorado—making 14 saves, which tied the conference season record and stands as the seventh‑best single‑game mark in UCF history.
