Propella promotes sports and well-being at the Obras de Jesús Care Network

At Propella, we strongly believe that the integral development of people goes beyond the academic and professional sphere. For this reason, as part of our commitment to social responsibility, we held a special activity to commemorate Sports Day together with the Obras de Jesús Care Network, located in Guararí, Heredia.

For three hours — from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. — we spent time with 18 children between the ages of 7 and 14 at the facilities of the Centro Cívico por la Paz, who kindly provided the space to carry out this enriching activity.

Much more than soccer: exploring new disciplines

We know that in Costa Rica, soccer is the predominant sport. However, our goal was to broaden horizons and provide new opportunities for discovery. That’s why the first part of the session focused on hands-on learning of different sports disciplines:

- Golf

- Badminton

- Basketball

- Volleyball

Each member of the Propella team worked with small groups of children, guiding them step by step through each discipline. The intention was not only to teach, but also to motivate, support, and build confidence so they would feel encouraged to try something new.

Through these activities, participants were able to develop motor skills, coordination, teamwork, and above all, curiosity to explore new interests.

A donation with purpose

One of the pillars of this activity was the donation of sports equipment, which was used during the session and then left available for the Care Network for continued use.

Beyond the donation, our goal was to create a sustainable impact: teaching how to use the equipment, encouraging active habits, and leaving a foundation so that the children can continue practicing these disciplines in their daily lives.

Sports as a tool for overall well-being

The activity concluded with a recreational soccer session, allowing participants to integrate what they learned with a sport familiar to everyone.

Additionally, we reinforced the importance of nutrition and hydration during sports practice. Each participant received a snack in Propella bags, and hydration was maintained through a dispenser with a sports drink.

This component was key in sharing a holistic message: sports are not only about movement, but also about health, energy, and well-being.

A commitment that defines us

At Propella, initiatives like this reflect our vision of impact: creating opportunities, opening paths, and actively contributing to the development of communities.

We believe that every experience counts. Every child who discovers a new skill, every smile, every learning moment adds to a future with more possibilities.

We will continue promoting spaces where sports, education, and support become real tools for transformation.
