National team member signs athletic scholarship to study and compete at a university in the United States

Fiama Hidalgo, a young national team member will leave next week with an athletic scholarship to begin her stage as a student athlete at Charleston Southern University located in the state of South Carolina, United States.

The young left back of the U-20 national team of Costa Rica began her process with Propella about a month ago.  Due to her academic and athletic profile, in addition to having most of the requirements ready it was possible to manage an athletic scholarship for Fiama to continue her college studies and compete at the same time in the NCAA Division 1 (highest level of women’s college soccer).

Fiama will begin her time as a student athlete this month. She will study business administration and will leave next Saturday, Aug. 21.She will also be reunited with her former teammate, Daniela Contreras, who received our services and left for Charleston with an athletic scholarship last January.

Charleston Southern University is one of the largest Christian universities in South Carolina. It has about three thousand students enrolled, and the city is ranked as one of the best cities and tourist destinations in the United States.
